Celebrating "The Year of the Nurse"

May 2, 2020 8 AM - 4 PM

Chippewa Valley Technical College

Attendees will select ONE of the following topics to attend:

(1) All- Day CNE preparation Workshop, or

(2) Excellence in Simulation for Nursing Workforce Preparation

Keynote Speakers and Workshop Facilitators:

CNE Preparation:  Diane Billings, EdD, RN, FAAN 

Excellence in Simulation:  Pamela Jeffries, PhD, RN, FAAN, ANEF, FSSH, and

Kristina Thomas Dreifuerst, PD, RN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN

Afternoon workshops and presenters include: 

  • Dr. Kris Dreifuerst “The Central Elements of Debriefing are Feedback and Reflection but What Does that Mean for Nursing Education?”
  • Dr. Pam Jeffries “Afternoon Tea with Pam Jeffries: Interactive Session addressing Simulation for Enhanced Student Learning”
  • Kim Ernstmeyer and team “ARISE - Augmented Reality in Simulation Education and use of Virtual Reality for Simulation
  • Dr. Cynthia Sherraden Bradley, Member of the INASCL Standards team “INASCL Standards – How Can We Implement the Standards in My Setting”

CEUs offered:  6.0 hours

Registration fees:  $150 WLN members, $200 non WLN members including a one-year WLN membership, $200 non WLN member, $350 on site walk-in registration (pending availability)

Conference attendees will register to attend one conference track to attend the day of the conference: either "CNE Preparation" or "Excellence in Simulation". Due to limited space, we please ask you to attend the workshop track you registered to attend to be sure everyone has a seat.

Air transportation most convenient to Minneapolis/Saint Paul International Airport or Chippewa Valley Regional Airport.

Hotel accommodations are located within the event details.  See a separate document titled "WLN Spring Conference May 2 Hotel Accommodations"

Register early as seating will fill to capacity!   

Disclosures:

  • Participants must complete a conference evaluation in order to receive continuing education credits. Instructions to follow.
  • There are no conflicts of interest on the part of any planner or presenter of this educational activity.

Refund Policy:

Registrations will be refunded if request is received or event is cancelled no later than one week before the event (April 25, 2020). The $5 service fee will not be refunded.

    CNE Preparation

    6.0 CE Credits

    Participants attending the CNE prep workshop will attend the CNE workshop during the entire event. Workshop hours are 8 AM - 11:30 AM, and 1PM - 4 PM with morning and afternoon breaks in addition to a lunch break. Purpose of the breaks are viewing vendor tables and poster presentations.
    Participants will depart the conference with a broad review of CNE preparation.

    CNE preparation textbooks will be offered for sale at the conference.

    Excellence in Simulation

    Participants attending the Excellence in Simulation workshop will attend the workshop during the entire event. Keynote addresses are scheduled from 8 AM - 11:30 AM, and afternoon workshops are scheduled from 1PM - 4 PM. Participants will choose to attend three out of four afternoon workshops.
